Specialty and Taxonomy Codes
The older 3 digit Specialty Codes have been replaced with the newer 10 digit Taxonomy Codes. Both codes are listed in this section of the database. A newer Taxonomy Codes must be assigned to each provider in the office and to each person you reference when submitting claims electronically. There is no way to "cross walk" between the older and newer codes!
